From the Chair of Governors

Welcome to Park Primary School from Park Primary School Governors.

The Governing Body, comprised of 15 Members, is responsible for the governance of the school and works in close collaboration with the Headteacher to ensure that all necessary policies and procedures are in place to promote the well being and safety of all children in the School as well as providing a pleasant and stimulating environment for both teaching and learning.

The close working relationship between the School and the Governing Body enables the Governors to be kept fully informed and involved in the work of the School.

To this end the Governors have organised themselves into 3 committees to oversee and to develop a better understanding of different aspects of the work of the school. To date our committee structure covers the three major areas:  Personnel, which deals with policies and other  aspects relating to school staffing and structure; Curriculum, which covers teaching and learning policies and procedures and receives regular updates from staff on the delivery of different aspects of the school curriculum; Resources, which with financial aspects of the School’s operations and maintenance and improvements of the school buildings and grounds and policies relating to health and safety and activities which take place on the school site.

We also seek to develop a positive relationship with parents, children and the local community.

The Governors strive to maintain a highly qualified and experienced staff who are committed to provide for all pupils at the school to develop their learning to the highest level of which they are capable as well as helping them to develop the skills they will need to succeed in this fast changing world.
